2020 Ice Rescue Training
On Saturday Feb 22, Penn Fire Department Shift B spent several hours doing their yearly ice rescue training. This training is a low frequency/ high stress event. This type of training helps establish members roles based on their strengths, it opens the types of communications that needs to happen during these events, and lastly will always help build rescue teams by being able to work effectively towards a common goal.
Lt. Matt Hamilton stated that “Anytime the team is able to practice these types of calls in training it will always result in improving your ability to make a successful rescue.” Penn Fire’s new full-time members Tim Daffron and Lacey Lawrence were among the team members that participated in this training.
